Buchenheim Apartments

The beds were comfortable and made for restful sleep. It's an absolutely quiet spot, perfect for relaxing. The owners are helpful and very, very friendly. A fantastic holiday apartment with a stunning view of Lake Wörthersee. Highly recommended!

We stayed in Lake Apartment 1 from May 18 to May 26, 2019, after booking in advance, for the VW GTI Wörthersee Pre-Meeting, one week before the main event. The view was indescribably beautiful: Lake Wörthersee, the surrounding area toward Pyramidenkogel and the municipality of Maria Wörth, plus the stage setup and stage itself. The apartment had two rooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and hallway. It sleeps up to four, with two separate bedrooms; the living room can also be made into a bedroom with a wall bed. Daily essentials were available, including dishwasher tablets, which I hadn't found at most of my previous accommodations. There was plenty of toilet paper, so we didn't need to buy more. Both balconies had two chairs and a table. The host and housekeeper welcomed us warmly. The host showed us around, explained the apartment, and went over a few rules. There's plenty within walking distance, including Billa for shopping, walks and longer hikes in the adjacent forest, possible tours to Lake Keutschacher See and Pyramidenkogel, and places to eat. We brought our Miniature Schnauzer after arranging it in advance, and that was no problem; the final-cleaning fee was small compared with other accommodations. Two friends joined us spontaneously, and adding them at short notice was possible for an extra charge. Almost everything needed day to day was there, though you'll need to bring soap, which is understandable given personal preference and skin compatibility. The bed was the main problem. The mattress and slatted frame sagged on one side, leaving a slight hollow, and squeaked and creaked a lot. The first night was very uncomfortable. We turned the mattress from the summer side to the winter side, which helped only a little. After the second or third night we got used to the noises and woke less often when turning over. A new bed, slatted frame, or mattress may be in order. The bed was uncomfortable, but the stunning view and location made up for it. I highly recommend the accommodation and will definitely book again.

Beautiful views, and the apartments are clean and fully furnished. The people are friendly but unobtrusive. The apartments aren't large.
