Hotel Magnus Klause

I’ve stayed here every time I’ve visited over the last three years, and don’t see that changing. For the price, it’s the best hotel in Mariazell. The owner and staff are very friendly, the rooms are cozy and spotless, and the beds are the best I’ve ever slept in, even better than the one at home. Breakfast is great, especially the scrambled eggs and orange juice, which other places somehow often get wrong. If they served lunch and dinner, I’d probably eat here for every meal. I’ve been to dozens of three-star hotels, mostly in Austria, and this is my favorite.

We spent almost a week here for skiing. It’s well located, with the ski lift an easy walk away, and the rooms facing the main square have lovely views, especially in snowy winter weather. The rooms are decent and clean, as are the small bathrooms. The restaurant has pleasant service and good food.

The owners were incredibly kind and supportive, doing everything they could to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Our room looked much better than the photos, and paying for the city view behind the Basilic was worth it. We were right in the center of Mariazell, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, the bus station, the cable car, and everything else. The photos were taken from our room.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff friendly, and breakfast very good.
