Bauernhof Kerschbaumerhof

We found plenty to enjoy nearby, from winter walks to tempting skiing opportunities, though I do regret not trying the skiing. At Kerschbaumerhof, milk and eggs were available directly from the hosts for breakfast, and communication with them was easy. They were incredibly friendly. The house is about 2 km from Matrei in a quiet countryside setting, ideal for lingering and relaxing. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bathroom is modern, and the living room and bedroom both look out towards Matrei and the surrounding mountains. We spent four wonderful days there, including a cozy winter day by the wood-burning stove. It’s a stay we’ll remember fondly.

Snow on Christmas Eve, what more could you ask for? We had a great time at your wonderful cabin. The setting and sensational view were lovely, and the hosts were super nice.

Our city kids got to explore in the evening while feeding the animals, and we felt so welcome. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. It’s a child-friendly, cozy little cabin with a wood-burning stove, kept clean and well maintained, and stocked with farm goods like eggs. The panoramic view is sensational. It’s only five minutes from the ski area, and in summer it must be a great base for hikes.

We’ve spent several summer holidays here over the years, visiting the Köll family. There are two lovely holiday apartments in a private home right on the mountain, with a stunning view. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming that you feel at home straight away.
