The staff were friendly and checked in right when we needed them. We had a pine lemonade that was light and refreshing, a forest mule that put me in mind of Christmas coming soon, and a fruity German red wine that went well with the mains. For food, the watermelon and brûléed cheese salad was a unique standout, the roast beef was tasty, the grilled salmon trout nicely balanced, and the hunter’s stew delicious. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the sorbet with chocolate brownie, but it was a lovely surprise. Thanks for making our first meal in Austria one to remember.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. There are also nice options for lunch, coffee, and dinner, and house guests get plenty of benefits with the Lungau card. The location is superb, with a cozy atmosphere and traditional-style interior.

Breakfast was good enough to rival what you’d find at a five-star hotel, and the rooms were lovely too. The family restaurant has a traditional feel, with excellent service and a great setting inside and out. Warmly recommended.
