Bauernhof Pension Peterseil

The cleaning arrangement was a problem from the start. On weekends, staff knocked at 8:30 in the morning, and when I was still asleep and didn’t answer, they tried the door with a key. My own key was on the inside, so they couldn’t get in. I was told that if I didn’t leave the room, it wouldn’t be cleaned for several days because the cleaners were leaving in 20 minutes. Even when I made sure the room was empty, the floor and shower were still dirty. The only thing I noticed was that something had been adjusted a little. The sheets, of course, stayed unchanged because they only change them once a week. It felt as if guests were being made responsible for the facility’s cleaning problems. The place itself was filthy and greasy. The showers had mildew, ventilation was poor, and the air felt stuffy. There’s no air conditioning. When I asked about it, they didn’t say so plainly, but called the weak, dusty fan they provide their version of air conditioning. The rooms were supposedly cleaned once a week, yet they still didn’t feel clean, and I often found hair left by previous guests. The walls were dirty, and at night the whole place felt eerie, like a horror movie. The bed was uncomfortable, and they refused to change the sheets more often when I asked, saying it was their policy. The pillows and bed cover looked so bad that I was afraid to take the covers off. What I saw was enough to keep me awake. I couldn’t believe they charged that much per night and couldn’t even replace the pillows, which looked like they’d come out of the rubbish. Maybe the rubbish would’ve been better. The owner, a woman, was unwelcoming and didn’t seem interested in who I was or what I needed. It felt as if her only concern was getting paid, with no attempt to make guests comfortable. Staying there felt like a favor, even though I was paying for poor service. I’d already booked and couldn’t cancel, so I stayed despite the conditions. Maybe this is what they consider clean and acceptable, but most guests would find this level of hygiene and service unacceptable. If you ask them to change anything, they may find ways to justify their policies. I’m sure they won’t like this review, but someone needed to tell the truth. I hope they improve, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable stay.
