Our room was clean and had everything we needed, and check-in was easy. The location worked perfectly for us, close to the main road in the Mauthausen area and right on our route, so it was easy to find. We arrived late and could eat the dinner we'd brought in the designated breakfast area instead of having it in our room. Breakfast was simple but nicely presented and a good start to the day. We felt welcome throughout, and when there was a billing issue, it was explained clearly and sorted out without trouble. A few of the breakfast staff seemed curt and unfriendly, though. The hotel is on a fairly busy road, so rooms facing it get very noisy with the window open on warm evenings, and stay too warm with it closed.

I had a pleasant stay. The staff and service were very friendly, and the rooms were nice. It's a little far from the city centre, which makes it a quiet place, but getting food nearby is quite difficult. There's no public transport close by either.

The rooms are simple and clean, breakfast is average, and there's no dinner option. We had a reservation and even phoned reception beforehand to confirm it. But when we arrived in the evening, an automatic machine took our money and gave us no key card. No one was at reception, and the number they provided was out of service. Luckily, a couple of guests returning to the hotel showed us a random black box on another part of the building where the staff had left the entry cards. Without those kind people, we would have slept in the car. I'd give zero stars if I could, but one is the minimum.

The friendly reception makes you feel welcome at this modern, well-managed hotel on State Road 3 (Bundesstrasse 3), coming from Mauthausen. The staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean and fully equipped. A hearty breakfast is served from 06.00 a.m. in the ground-floor Bistro, with a range of fruit and vegetables and a wide selection of cold cuts. Try the hotel if you're visiting the MAUTHAUSEN Memorial monument.
