We booked two nights at Gasthof Tanner hoping for a quiet, relaxing break, and it turned out to be a real gem. The food and setting were lovely, and the owners and staff were delightful. The staff were the best, and we enjoyed every second of our stay at Gasthof Thanner. It’s a quiet, peaceful spot outside Mayrhofen, though still close to the village, just a 10 minute drive from the center. Our room was clean and comfortable, and there were plenty of good food options. Highly recommended!

After a long but lovely walk up the road from Mayrhofen, we stopped for beers and a fabulous ice cream sundae. The waitresses looked so natural in their beautiful Austrian traditional national dress, which made the stop feel perfect. The toilet facilities were immaculate too.

The dining area has incredible views, and the local food was delicious. It’s a wonderful, timeless family-run hotel, with that lovely feeling of stepping back in time. I couldn’t recommend it more.

I came away uplifted by the pride people in the Austrian hospitality industry take in their work. At the restaurant, I had a generous portion of roast beef, beautifully presented, and a delightful conversation with a woman about the hotel’s history, which I’m especially interested in. The Merlot by the glass was the best I’ve had. I also met other good folks in the Brandburg village. What a gem.
