Burgenländerhof

The owners and staff were friendly, and the group there had a pleasant feel. The rooms were clean, and breakfast was really good. It’s relatively quiet, on the way to the lake. The stay made me want to vacation in Austria again, especially Burgenland. Unfortunately, age-related wear and tear means a mountain holiday is no longer an option for me 😬.

The owner is personally involved, and the service is extremely friendly. It’s a lovely, down-to-earth hotel with a personal atmosphere, in a top location. Breakfast was excellent, and the value for money is unbeatable. Many thanks, we’d love to come back!

At €94 per person per night, it was too expensive. I relied too much on the photos when I booked. The Burgenländerhof used to be a hotel with a restaurant, but now it’s just a bed and breakfast. Our room was new but cheaply furnished, and the small bathroom had a 70s feel. There’s no minibar in the room. Drinks are kept downstairs in a fridge where you help yourself and fill out a checklist. There was no coffee or tea available during the day. Breakfast was okay, though the roll I got on the first day was stale.

The value for money is excellent, and we’d definitely come back. The hotel is a little dated but still highly recommendable. We stayed on the second floor, where the rooms hadn’t been renovated yet. Both the room and bathroom were clean, and there was air conditioning. At breakfast, the staff member was very friendly and attentive to hungry guests. She offered different egg dishes, coffee, and tea, and accommodated most requests.
