The hosts are warm and welcoming, and enjoy chatting with guests on the garden terrace. Gästehaus Kupfer has a roomy living area, kitchen, bedrooms, showers, toilets on the first floor, and a large balcony. There are cooking utensils, new beds and wardrobes, and east-, west-, and south-facing windows with shutters. The Pitz Valley is quiet, with no traffic, while still being centrally placed in Tyrol, so there are plenty of places to explore from here. For a day out, you could head through the Kaunergrat from Piller toward Switzerland and Italy, or go to the Kaunertal Glacier. The Oetz Valley is also easy to reach by car, with glaciers, sights, and walks nearby. Try the Geolehrpfad Au/Winkeln or Wald/Karres for a lovely outing. Timmelsjoch is another way into Italy. From Merano in Bolzano, you can return via the Reschen Pass, where there's a church at Reschensee, or through Nauders and Prutz. Just behind the campsite in Prutz, there's a sauerbrunnen with very healthy water. From there, routes via Kaunerberg, Kaunergrat, and Piller bring you back to Wenns. Closer to home, easy uphill walks in the Pillertal Valley are good for a refreshing dip, or you can take the lift to Hochzeiger or Riflesee, or a train to the glacier. When it's not too hot, there's a nice gorge walk down to Artzl, plus other waterfall and gorge hikes around Shön and Wiesle. It's usually a few degrees cooler here than in the Inn Valley. You can also drive via Imst to Innsbruck, taking the inland road or toll motorway, or cross the Mieming Plateau from Telfs. Untermieming has a lovely mountain lake for swimming, and the Stams Suspension Bridge has a waterfall where you can cool off. Another option is to continue to Tarrenz, visit Strad Knappenwelt, dip your toes in the Gurgl, and return to the Pitztal Valley at Imst. A scenic loop through Kuhtai takes you past reservoirs, then back via Zirl near Innsbruck and Telfs. The shopping center in Telfs has a Sunday flea market. When it's cooler, Imst is good for shopping in the industrial area or old town, with parking at Rosengarten Schlucht behind the tourist office, or you can visit Hoch Imst. The drive back to Landeck via Fliess and Piller is beautiful too, and the view from the park house above is worth seeing. Via Seefeld, you can reach Garmisch through the Leutasch Gorge, also called Geisterklamm, and walk into Germany. Or take the Hahntenjoch route through the Lechtal valley back to Reute. For a longer scenic drive, go via Arlberg, Lake Constance, and Strasbourg, straight through the Black Forest.
