Familie Kaltenbrunner - Gaudihof

The riding lessons were the biggest letdown. We paid 20 euros per child for an hour, but the whole group of up to six kids shared one horse, even though they say groups should be no bigger than four. About half the time went to grooming, then the children took turns riding around a circle about three meters across. Each class was just a repeat of the last one. The information beforehand wasn't clear enough, either. The grounds looked neglected, with wrecked cars in the parking area, broken go-karts and bobby cars in the inner garden, and rubbish lying around. The apartments were okay but could use better equipment: just two hotplates, old towels, and cleanliness that was decent but not great. We had cold, wet weather and it was 12 degrees that evening, but when my wife asked about heating, she was told it wouldn't start until October. People were mostly friendly, though some replies to questions came across as rude. We knew it was a two-star place, but it's a shame, because the area is lovely and with some care the place could be really nice. We've stayed at other two-star Bauernhöfe that were much better.
