Haus Freitag

We had the whole neighboring house to ourselves, and it was spotlessly clean. The place is huge, with lots of rooms and a well-equipped kitchen, in a central location with Millstatt right next door. The only drawback was the Wi-Fi, which was a bit weak.

We were five friends aged 20 to 25, and spent a week at Ms. Freitag’s holiday home. The stay was perfect from start to finish. We arrived much earlier than planned, but after a quick discussion, Ms. Freitag got the place ready as fast as she could. We were able to move in at 2:30 p.m. instead of sometime between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. The house has a hallway, kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms with toilets, another separate toilet, and two balconies. It was absolutely spotless everywhere. The furnishings are a little dated, but the house had everything we needed. The kitchen was especially well equipped, with a four-burner stove, oven, fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster, sink, plenty of cookware, dishes and glasses, plus dish soap, sponges, tea towels and a broom. Both bedrooms had a small TV and plenty of closet space. One had a double bed and single bed; the other had a double bed and its own balcony. The bathrooms and extra toilet were very clean, and towels and toilet paper were provided. There’s lots of room to relax or play games in the living room, with its big TV, sofas, coffee table and large dining table for 6-8 people. The sofa can also be used as an extra bed. From here, you can step out onto the second balcony, which has a lovely lake view. The location is excellent. The bike path is right there, and the lake is about 50 m away, though there’s no direct access. There’s a lido with three beach volleyball courts, a bathhouse with wellness facilities and a sauna, Billa supermarket, and Kap 4613, the lake bar, all within a five-minute walk. The town center and a pizzeria with a bowling alley are about ten minutes away on foot. Around the lake there are mini-golf courses, diving and surfing schools, tennis and golf, mountain bike trails and a lakeside bike path. Sommeregg Castle has a torture museum, and there’s also a go-kart track, paintball and archery nearby, reachable by car or bike. G2 nightclub is about 15 minutes away by car or taxi. There’s a fairly busy road near the house, which is the one small drawback. It’s separated from the house, so I felt it was safe for small children, and the well-insulated windows keep it from being a big issue. Ms. Freitag also has a small, cozy garden, free bicycles to use, garage storage for your own bikes, and parking. Ms. Freitag is very friendly and helpful, and always available if you have questions. The house is well equipped, the location is excellent, and the value for money is more than good. I can highly recommend Haus Freitag. I also can’t understand the previous 1-star reviews. My friends and I stayed the same week as those reviewers and were completely satisfied, and they apparently didn’t explain their ratings.
