Villa Streintz

Good hospitality.

The owner is a real gem, keeping everything spotless and paying attention to the guests' needs. But when we raised the problems, we got excuses. After three days we packed up; they brazenly asked us to pay half the price for leaving early, so we spent the rest of our holiday in a proper hotel. A bitter experience and a waste of time and money. The villa is beautifully situated right on Lake Millstatt and has its own swimming jetty, but that's where the positives end. The interior is run-down, with standards straight out of the 1970s, and the steep price of €180 a night is completely unjustified. The antiquated kitchenette was the low point, including a coffee machine already showing significant wear.

The garden is large and quiet, with loungers, fruit trees, and herbs, and the swimming area is lovely. Coffee, tea, and jugs of water are always available, and the nearest restaurant is just two minutes away. Breakfast is really good, from excellent fried eggs to fresh figs(!) from the owners' parents' house, plus carrots, flax seeds, and excellent coffee. The atmosphere feels unique, sophisticated, and charmingly whimsical. A wonderfully cool concept. See you again soon!!!

The little jetty is the way down to the water, and it was simply delightful. Breakfast was excellent, and we were able to eat in the wonderful garden. You feel at home at Villa Streintz right away. The house has been lovingly renovated without losing its charm. The apartment is very spacious. The bathroom isn't very big, but has everything you need, and there's a second shower in the kitchen.
