Gästehaus Amely

Kathrin made us feel very welcome, and breakfast was excellent. We stayed two nights and would definitely recommend it. The rooms are simple rather than luxurious, but they’re genuinely clean and perfectly adequate.

I made a last-minute booking at Gästehaus Amely and was able to check in much earlier than expected. The owner even drove me to the train station in Oberstdorf because she was heading there herself, and I could leave my luggage until the afternoon. The breakfast buffet had everything I could want. Right in the center of Riezlern, the location couldn’t be better.

The rooms were clean and had plenty of storage, and the breakfast was excellent, with fresh rolls, croissants, homemade fruit salad, and scrambled eggs. Kathrin and Bernd are warm, friendly hosts who are always glad to share tips for the valley. Gästehaus Amely sits centrally in Riezlern, with the ski bus and all bus lines stopping right outside. It’s set back from the road, so there was no street noise in our room. Downstairs there’s a sauna guests can use any time, as well as a spacious common room with a guest kitchen and fridge. Drinks are sold at reasonable prices, and the kitchen is available whenever you need it. I felt very comfortable and would happily stay here again. Wholeheartedly recommended.

From the guesthouse, the hiking bus stop is just nearby, and the friendly hosts were always ready with hiking suggestions. Riezlern’s center is close, yet my single room stayed quiet and pleasant. I spent four lovely days there. There’s a tasty breakfast buffet with plenty of choice, all freshly prepared, plus a small sauna and infrared cabin. I’d definitely return.
