The little things made our winter week with our two young children feel easy, especially coming back from skiing to complimentary cake and coffee. There’s a heated indoor and outdoor pool, plus separate wellness areas, and the hotel is beautifully warm inside with excellent food. Our spacious room had a low divider between the children’s sleeping area and ours, and every bed, even the pull-out sofa, was comfortable for a great night’s sleep. The whole place was clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly, so we felt right at home. A short walk got us to the Schwandlift T-bar, while buses to the gentler lifts at Moos (Mittelberg) and the magic carpet at Ifen stopped right outside. Thanks, family Kessler!

The food was a highlight for me: there’s a breakfast buffet every day, cake in the afternoon, and dinner comes with salad, a starter, soup, a main course, dessert, and cheese. We also had a roomy guest room, and there’s a pool and sauna.

The location made getting around simple, with every bus line stopping by the hotel and a small lift right next door for a quick run. The Kandelwand cable car is two bus stops away. We stayed six nights with our child. Some rooms have been updated, but ours was older and still in fantastic condition. There’s an indoor pool, sauna, and a little playroom for kids. Breakfast was superb, lunch was offered free each day, and there was coffee and cake in the afternoon. Dinner had plenty of variety. Maybe some fruit in the evening would have been nice, but that’s a small thing. We did miss having an après-ski bar nearby, as there isn’t one. At the ice rink in central Riezlern, though, they serve “the world’s largest Feuerzangenbowle.” Riezlern is a good fit for families and older guests. If you’re after skiing and partying, it’s the wrong place ;-)

New Year’s Eve in the mountains was a dream here. Every area was spotlessly clean, and the sauna was top notch. The relaxed atmosphere, super friendly staff, and delicious food with lots of choices made the stay special. The bar had everything we wanted. We’ll definitely return.
