Norishütte

The owner of the Alpenhotel Widderstein runs this inn and was very nice. Our room was spacious, pleasant, clean, and in good condition. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty to choose from, including freshly prepared items.

The cake was served by a stressed-looking waitress, who I think may also be the owner. It was the best time for afternoon coffee, yet she said only one kind was left. We ate it by windows with wilted flowers, beneath yellowed pictures with cobwebs. The only polite small talk came when we paid. From outside, the place looked closed, with just a neon sign (in the Allgäu region!) and a careless A4 sheet saying “Open” to suggest guests were welcome. Inside, the entrance felt stuck in the last millennium. I think even one star is too much. Not recommended, spend your money elsewhere.

Dinner was delicious, and that’s the only reason I’m giving a star. The breakfast got worse day by day, with less to choose from. We stayed a week at Norishütte with our children, who were 1 and 5. They ran around in the hallway a little, and the landlady came out extremely annoyed and shouted at them harshly. When I went to eat at the inn, I picked a table in the beer garden. The next day I asked if we could sit outside again and was told no, with no explanation. I agree with the earlier reviews and can’t recommend the place at all.

The food was mediocre at best. The meatloaf and sausage salad were poor quality, and the owner wouldn’t consider even a small menu change. They were so uncommunicative it came across as unfriendly. I can only agree with Rudolf, this place hasn’t changed in ages. Simply unacceptable.
