That balcony view is still one of my favorite memories, and the milk was delicious too. The whole place had such a warm, relaxed feel, with lovely colors and plenty of greenery in the view. Dear Familie Schruckmayr, thank you for making our time there so lovely. Nothing to complain about, and such nice people!

The terrace is pleasant and looks out onto lots of green, though unfortunately not the lake. You can hear traffic much of the time because the main road around Mondsee runs fairly close, but the accommodation is still reasonably quiet. The lake itself is about a 10-minute walk away. Reaching the beach takes closer to 15-20 minutes because so much of the shoreline is private. There are better places to stay nearby, in my view. For a holiday of a week or two, this could work for one or two people, as it's not very spacious and there are plenty of other options around. Over a longer stay, though, it doesn't feel worthwhile. Nothing seems to be invested in updating or improving the accommodation. The kitchenette has a small fridge-freezer and a small TV, while there's no TV in the room. There's no extractor over the hob, just a cabinet above it, which feels unpleasant and potentially unsafe. The Wi-Fi cuts out often. I haven't had the cleaning that was promised every three weeks for over a year, so I've been doing it myself each week. I find the host very money-minded. The bills haven't matched what we agreed: I was charged for days I wasn't staying there, and the charge is counted by the day or by the night depending on which works better for the accommodation provider. Laundry costs an extra 8 EUR. There are no mosquito screens on the windows or terrace door, so mosquitoes, bugs, and spiders can get in when they're open. I see spiders fairly often. The shower is inside the room, and its steam vents into the room, which is odd but something you get used to. The built-in jets and radio don't work, so it's only usable as a basic shower. The room's old toilet has a small fan that doesn't ventilate well, meaning the air goes through the room, and its mirror hangs very low. My two stars are because of the host lady's unfair way of dealing with things. In the end, the place only makes sense for a short holiday.

The prawns crackers taste great! There was dust around, though the cleaner herself was spotless. The hay bales look lovely, but I can't say whether they're comfortable. The beds are unusual and romantic, meant for two or more.

A good base for bike rides, with the beach only five minutes away on foot. The hosts are really nice and the place itself is lovely. Having the shower in the room felt a little odd.
