Erlachmühle

The breakfast was a real highlight, with traditional breads, smoked fish, regional cold cuts, and cheeses that showed off local food. The hotel also focuses on regional produce and organic ingredients, and everything we ate was exceptionally tasty. The owning family and staff were joyful and attentive, and meeting them made the stay even nicer. Our room felt welcoming, was very clean and organized, and looked recently renovated. Erlachmühle has been in the same family for at least three generations. In the neighboring building, also family-owned, there’s one of the region’s few mills still in operation, with records going back to 1416. Free parking is available on site. The drive there winds through a beautiful landscape, which you can also see from the room windows and the open area near the breakfast room. The setting feels peaceful and close to nature, despite being convenient: Billa is a four-minute drive away, McDonald's and a gas station are each three minutes away, and central Mondsee is six minutes away. Erlachmühle would make a lovely place for a restorative weekend or a base for seeing the area’s lakes and mountain scenery.

That old mill beside the creek has a lovely, peaceful garden. I saw people enjoying nice snacks and beer, too. Don’t miss the sugar-free coconut and mango “cake” if you’re nearby. I’m definitely going back for lunch to try the trout, which sounds excellent.

The food and room were great, but the e-mountain bikes were the highlight of our stay. We hired the best ones ever and had a great time exploring on them.

We only stayed one night, and that really wasn’t enough. The owners were friendly, the area peaceful and beautiful, and the rooms were spacious, spotless, and bright. Breakfast was nice too, especially the fantastic homemade bread. I recommend it to everyone.
