Hotel Krone

Hotel Krone is perfectly placed, close to clothes shops, a steak house, pizza places, cafes, and beautiful Lake Mondsee, just a four-minute walk away. The atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming. The rooms were kept spotless, and it was lovely to meet such happy workers. The laundry service was excellent too, with everything washed and dried in record time. I ate a main meal now and then in the very busy restaurant, and the food and drinks staff were attentive and helpful. The breakfast spread was simply amazing, with so much preparation and hard work behind this 5* breakfast. Thank you, everyone!

The room was beautiful, but it had lots of uneven floor levels and steps, and basically felt like an attic. The front desk lady was extremely rude, especially after she found out we were Americans. For what we paid, I definitely won't return.

Our three-person room was one of the biggest I've seen, with room for four. The bathroom was large too, with a huge shower, and being separate from the bedroom made it private and convenient. Its automatic lights were handy, and there was also a separate porch room. Breakfast had a great range, including options for me as a vegan. It's a short walk to the lake, though the hotel isn't right on it. The only drawback was some noise early in the morning.

We had a lovely four-night stay at Hotel Krone and would absolutely return to Mondsee, probably with family who'd enjoy both the town and the hotel. The traditional hotel is just what you'd expect in the middle of a town. Our room was small but cosy, with a stunning view, and the temperature stayed comfortable through big changes in the weather. I only noticed on our final day that there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room, so it hadn't been an issue. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, and I loved being able to order fried eggs to the table each morning. The staff were friendly and approachable. There was a small issue with a waiter during our last meal, but it was dealt with quickly and smoothly, with no lasting problem. Hopefully it came down to a translation issue.
