Appartementhaus Hochkönig 1

We were three people here to hike around the area and climb the Hochkönig. The owners were very friendly, and our apartment was very spacious. It was quiet too, and we never heard the neighbors. Nothing was missing for us, and we'd definitely stay again if we hike the Hochkönig. From the garden, a small hiking trail heads toward the Windraucheggalm alpine pasture. A little farther up the road is the Arthushaus, where several trails begin, including the standard route to the Hochkönig. The garden benches look straight toward the beautiful Mandlwand mountain, and guests can use the barbecue. We had direct garden access from our apartment. Inside, everything was clean and well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed and more, and there was plenty of parking in front of the house. The bathroom had a bathtub, separate shower, and toilet, plus there was a second bathroom with a toilet.

While we were away, someone entered the apartment we were renting without telling us first. When I raised it with the owner, he said Germans needed to be monitored because they often break things. He also brought up a beach in Italy where Germans weren't allowed in one area to make his point. We were shocked by this nationalistic anti-German attitude. It left a shadow over the nice, clean apartment and beautiful area.

Halfway through the week, the landlord suddenly told us our dog couldn't be left alone because dogs bark. That seems logical, but why rent to people with dogs then? There were six dogs there! She shouted and was extremely rude. The second week, we didn't get clean bedding and had to pay extra for it. So for a two-week rental, do you only get bedding and towels for the first week? We've been coming to Muhlbach for 27 years, and this was unfortunately our first and last stay with these rude people. That woman doesn't belong in this segment.

The top-floor apartment had a stunning view and was so well equipped that we wanted for nothing. It had three bedrooms and two bathrooms. We had a wonderful holiday in Mühlbach am Hochkönig and will definitely come back.
