On a guided visit to the Müllnerhof with a group from Meissen Tourist, we learned a lot about the building and got to try some delicious treats. We’d love to visit again.

This lovely farm and guesthouse dates back to 1706, and four generations of farmers live here now. The farm products they sell are organic. Christian, the current owner, is very friendly, has a great sense of humor, and speaks excellent French. A real curiosity, listed in the world record book, is a watering trough carved into a huge 360-year-old spruce tree. See the photos.

It’s a pleasant place to visit, and the staff are welcoming. Still, it’s beautifully staged, so don’t expect a working farm. The produce is very expensive and available all over Austria.
