Das Seekarhaus

We can highly recommend Das Seekar Haus for a ski holiday. The location in Obertauern is hard to beat: the slopes and lifts are just 10 meters away. The spacious rooms have a high standard of interior, and the hotel and its staff are dog friendly, which matters a lot to us. We enjoyed the atmosphere, breakfast, apres ski buffet, and dinner. Service is top level, and the ski room is exceptional.

We stayed at Seekarhaus in December 2025 and had a great time. The hotel and spacious room were modern and high quality, and the food was excellent. The kids loved both the kids club and the ski school and teachers. It was very convenient to ski in and out. There was plenty of snow despite it being mid December, thanks to the altitude. We can see ourselves coming back.

Hotel Seekarhaus has a cozy, welcoming feel, and being family-owned comes through in the warm hospitality and attention to detail. The food was hearty, well prepared, and just right after a day in the mountains. Our comfortable, well-kept room balanced traditional alpine character with modern comforts. It’s about a five-minute drive up the mountain from Obertauern, a little away from the bustle but still close to everything. A relaxed place with an authentic feel.

The hotel is family run rather than part of a big chain, and that was something I really liked. Thanks, seekerhaus, for helping us have such a great holiday. Every detail was taken care of, and the location couldn’t be better. Our whole family, from the kids to the adults, had an amazing time. It’s very practical with young children without feeling like a kids hotel. There’s a little ski school right outside, so drop-off and pick-up are easy, and you can ski and check on the kids now and then. We’ll be back later in the winter 😍
