Haus Helga Obertauern

Haus Helga was very clean, and we had no trouble with the heating, even with -16 degrees Celsius outside, or with the hot water. There was a special room to keep the ski boots in good condition, and the skis were stored at the entrance in a locked garage. We were also given ski maps and all the information we needed, including restaurant menus, taxi numbers, and ski school details. The location is good, near the Pernerlift for easy access to the slopes in the morning. The ZentralBahn is behind the house, so we could get back to Haus Helga in five minutes after skiing.

The skiing area has runs for everyone, from beginners to advanced skiers. Beginners like me can find challenging blue slopes and plenty of runs to improve on. More advanced skiers might get bored after a few days. Moving between some parts of Obertauern involves walking on flat ground between lifts or taking slopes that may be too challenging for beginners. Still, that didn't take away from the trip. Skiing is also about being with friends or family and enjoying where you spend your evenings and nights, which is why I'm giving five stars. This was my first time in Obertauern. I found Haus Helga while looking for somewhere suitable and booked the family apartment with friends after emailing Isabella Möller. It's cozy and has what you need for a holiday, including if you want to cook, as we did. The two bedrooms were nice and had plenty of clothes storage. The garage was a bit challenging, but I was still allowed to charge my car with a granny loader at 8A, since the only charger in town seemed to be occupied by cars that had finished charging or weren't charging at all. The owners live in the same building, are easy to reach, speak German and English, and provided information about the stay and the area. The lift in front of the apartment links two areas.

We had a great ski weekend at Haus Helga. The center of Obertauern is close, and the slopes, shops, and restaurants are just a few steps away. Isabella was a very friendly and helpful host. Thank you!
