Chalet am Sonnenhang

We wanted a village feel away from the tourist rush, and this chalet gave us that and more. Obertraun is a truly cute village, and the chalet does it justice, with lots of character and rustic farm charm: chickens, swans, and sheep. We enjoyed biking around the lake, nearby hikes, and the boat ride to Hallstatt. We stayed two nights, absolutely loved it, and would come back without question when we get the chance. Lisa was a consummate professional, prompt, clear, friendly, and competent. The chalet itself was comfortable and clean, with a lovely, thoughtfully stocked kitchen. It had honey, jam, juice, pate, cooking oil, and different other items.

A traditional Alpine Village home with very comfortable accommodation and a gracious host. They took exceptional care of us and suggested a fabulous local restaurant, where we had one of the best meals of our time in Austria. Thanks, Lisa. We’ll be back!

For our honeymoon, we had a lovely, cosy little three-storey house and had a great time. It would have been perfect if my wife weren’t pregnant, since the bed was on the third floor and the bathroom on the first. I was a little worried about us having to climb down to use it. Other than that, I couldn’t complain. I just wish we could have stayed longer.

Chalet am Sonnenhang’s Tiny House had everything we needed for a perfect weekend. It was super cute, comfortable, and tucked into the mountains close to the lake, like something from a fairy tale. The kitchen was fully equipped, with herbs, oil, and salt provided, so cooking was easy. I’d definitely come back.
