Urania Apartment

The room was so dirty that we spent our two nights there worrying about hygiene. There was a used toothpick on the floor and hair left in the shower from previous guests, which made me question whether the sheets had been changed. We pointed this out at reception. The receptionist, a short, heavy, middle-aged woman with dark hair and glasses whose name I didn't get, insisted the room had been cleaned. When I showed her the hair and toothpick and asked if this was their usual standard, she agreed it was disgusting and said, “As you can see, it is out standard, We will TRY to improve next time.” We weren't offered a refund, a different room, or even another cleaning. Since we'd already checked in, we couldn't get our money back and had no choice but to stay. I'm glad we'd only booked two nights. Completely unacceptable, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who cares about dirt.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and even put together an itinerary of things to do and see. The location worked well for exploring Vienna, with the nearest tram stop about a four-minute walk away. Great value for money.

I hate leaving a bad review, but after the first night I had bites on my arms and legs, and by the second morning I was covered. I told the hotel and they moved me to a different room, where I found a mosquito. My whole body ended up covered in bites from the stay. The location is good, but while I was there it seemed infested with some kind of bugs, bed bugs, or fleas. I wouldn't recommend it.

10/10. I liked being so near the tram station, since it made getting to the city center quick. The staff were really friendly too.
