St. Hubertus

I lived here, and it wasn’t that good.

RUETZ bakery is only a 3-minute drive away and opens at 06:00, which was a real bonus for getting fresh bread and pastries before heading up the mountain. Parking is available on site, and the drive to the center of St. Anton takes exactly 13 minutes. Schnann made a convenient base for skiing by day, then coming back to a quiet village in the evening. We stayed at St. Hubertus for a winter ski holiday and had a fantastic time. The village is picturesque and peaceful, and the apartment was spotless and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and pleasantly decorated, which was especially handy with all our bulky winter gear. The kitchen was very well equipped, too, whether you want to cook or make breakfast before skiing. The Strolz family were exceptional hosts. As a local guide, I look for places that offer extra value and peace of mind, and this one delivered. If you want a spacious, quality stay in a quiet village within easy reach of one of the world’s best ski resorts, St. Hubertus is a great choice. 👌💯 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The big balcony full of flowers is my favorite spot, with a lovely view across the Stanzertal and the surrounding mountains, including part of the Mittagspitze glacier opposite. There’s plenty nearby to do, including a gorge that starts just 100 meters from the house. St. Anton is a fifteen-minute drive away, and Landeck, Immsted, and Innsbruck are easy to reach too. The apartments have useful, up-to-date tourist information, and travel around the valley by public transport is arranged automatically through the apartment/tourist association and is free. There are plenty of bus connections. It’s also easy to reach from the Netherlands by train, with South Limburg about an eight-hour journey away. We’ve stayed here every summer for several years and really feel at home. The owners are incredibly sweet. Both the large apartment and the “smaller” one we used for a few days two years ago were spacious and well cared for. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are good, and the kitchen has everything you need. Everything is clean down to the little edges and ledges, without a speck of dust. We’ll definitely come back.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and the kitchen had plenty of equipment. It’s a typical Tyrolean house, with rooms upstairs, shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen. Parking is in the small courtyard below. There were four of us on the third floor, using two rooms while the other two were empty, so we had the apartment to ourselves. The bus service is good, though Sant'Anton only has paid parking. One thing to know: the owner doesn’t speak Italian and takes evening quiet seriously. It means absolute silence after 9:30 PM, and no later than 10:00 PM. I’d recommend it for a winter or summer stay.
