We spent evenings in the hot tub and sauna, and the views of the hills were stunning. Chalet Larchenzipf is simply beautiful, one of the best places we’ve stayed. We travelled from the UK as a family of three, and the hosts were very friendly. Annemarie's English was much better than our German! We appreciated all the little luxuries, especially the coffee machine and soda stream, and the beds were large and very comfortable. The owners' restaurant was also excellent, with exceptional food and drinks. We’d absolutely return if we came back this way. Vielen Danke!

We could start our hikes right from this quiet, fairly secluded spot, and it worked perfectly for us. Across the street, we had fresh eggs from the henhouse in the mornings, and we highly recommend the restaurant there for hearty dishes like pork knuckle and Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle). We stayed a week as four people. The chalet was tastefully and luxuriously furnished, with cozy bedrooms, great beds, and a kitchen that had everything we needed. After using the sauna or whirlpool, the large shower for two was fantastic. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend it!

The restaurant is closed Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Sundays and public holidays, it’s best to reserve, especially for lunch or dinner, if you want a table. When the weather’s sunny, the terrace is a lovely place to linger in both summer and winter. These comments are about Almstüberl z'an Hascht, not the chalet. Since it opened in 2003, we’ve visited several times each year while on holiday and enjoyed its authentic Austrian food. Everything on the extensive menu, food and drinks alike, comes highly recommended. Hosts Annemarie and Gerhard (Hascht) are the best thing a guest could ask for. A special feature is the music room, filled with lovingly curated keepsakes from the 1950s and 60s, celebrating American music history and classic American cars.
