The house has loads of room, so everyone can find a bit of space. There’s just one bathroom, which takes some planning if you’re a group, and the washing machine takes coins and costs extra. We ended up cleaning on the first day because some things, like the dishes, didn’t feel properly looked after. Cleanliness can be a personal thing, of course. It’s a quiet village setting with mountain views from the windows. You’ll see chickens, cows, and horses, and sometimes smell the barn, though with the right wind it’s barely noticeable. A mini market is three minutes away on foot, past a small church. There’s also a vending machine across the road that’s open all day and night, with fresh milk and eggs. For children and beginner skiers, there’s a lift practically behind the house, about five minutes away by car. The bigger ski areas are 10-20 minutes away, with Zell Am See the closest. The owner was polite and easy to reach, and we kept in good contact throughout the stay.
