Breakfast was a real highlight, with regional products and organic honey straight from the beekeeper. The guesthouse is charming, right in the heart of Pörtschach and close to the train station. The owners are thoughtful and accommodating, and do their best to meet guests’ wishes. There were a few minor issues, including technical problems, but it’s still well worth five stars.

The place was clean and cozy, and check-in and check-out were easy. It’s within walking distance of the train station, the lake and some good restaurants.

We felt warmly welcomed with our baby, and it’s a very child-friendly place. The room was cozy and spacious, with air conditioning, and the beds were really comfortable. Everything was clean. Breakfast is on the small side, but excellent, with everything needed for a good start to the day, and fresh regional food. This is a lovely family-run house; the original furnishings have mostly been kept, with updates where needed. There’s no elevator, so you’ll need to carry your things. If we come back to Pörtschach, we’d love to stay here again 🥰

The host family made us feel welcome right away. They were incredibly warm, helpful and easy to reach, and we felt in good hands. We really enjoyed our stay. The building is around 150 years old, which gives it a special charm, and the renovations have been done with care while keeping its cozy feel. We’d love to come back!
