The balcony view when you wake up is hard to beat, and the public hockey area nearby was a real bonus for me. Bring skates if you can. The ski area is 1.5 km away by car, while the better-known resort at Matrei is 15 km away. Bernhard and Annelie welcomed us warmly. They’re the Berger family, and the owners have been here since 1981. I thanked them with Becherovka and homemade plum brandy. For the price, the stay was really good. We’ll definitely be back.

The drive up is steep enough that a more powerful car would be a good idea. Ours struggled on the slopes. We brought our dog, and the elderly owner loved it, so that was no problem. The attic apartment was clean and nicely equipped, with a comfortable bed and a great balcony view. A hiking trail starts just a few steps from the house.

We’d happily come back. The peaceful surroundings made for a really relaxing break, and the apartment was spotless with everything we needed. The bed and bedding were just right. Many thanks to the Bergen family.
