The staff were lovely, and the chef was really accommodating. We’re vegan and had no complaints at all. The chef and his team made every meal feel special. The rooms are delightful, with great mountain views at both sunrise and sunset. The bathroom could use an update, though. You can walk to the nearest ski lift, or drive 20 minutes to plani. It’s a great location. Thank you.

We’d gladly stay here again for the food, hospitality, and location. My wife and I spent two nights at the hotel during our Dachstein Circuit. The sauna, steam room, and infrared cabinet gave us a lovely hour to relax. Just be aware that Austrians sauna naked. Dinner was table service, and we were looked after very well. There’s a good drinks menu and a well-stocked salad bar. As vegetarians, we had a suitable starter and main both nights. The vegetable lasagne on the first evening was, according to my wife, the best she’d ever had. On grill night we had jacket potatoes and grilled vegetables with sauce. Dessert came with the lights off, sparklers, and the owner parading it around the room! The hotel is tucked away from the main road, about a 5-10 minute walk from the town center. The owner gave us a warm welcome, kindly put up with our terrible attempts at Austrian, and showed us the facilities. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with a lovely balcony overlooking the valley. It’s an old, family-run hotel with traditional Austrian mountain decor, and the wood carvings in the restaurant are amazing.

Restaurant review: The waiter was friendly, so we gave the place a try, though the person in charge, who was preparing BBQ, didn’t give us a warm welcome. The food was pretty average and definitely poor value for money. I can’t recommend it.

The rooms feel dated and could use some TLC. There aren’t many sockets, which is the most noticeable issue. Still, the hotel has plenty of character, the food is good, and the staff are friendly. I’d recommend it, especially for the welcoming service.
