For 10 years, we’ve been coming here with friends and family, and it feels like home every time. The old house and farm are a big part of its charm. The kitchen and living room are just right for large groups, while the charming rooms have plenty of space for young and old. There are fantastic nearby places to visit, whether you’re after fun or nature.

We had a fantastic stay and felt very comfortable. Everything was clean and newly renovated, and the hosts were so lovely and helpful. Thanks so much for everything.

The house has three floors, with double and triple rooms, a large kitchen and a common room. The rooms are simply furnished. Outside there’s seating and lots to explore, including a trampoline, sauna, animals and a soccer goal. In summer, the house is full of beautiful flowers. We chose it for the reasonable price and proximity to the area's main attractions, though a car is absolutely necessary. We booked by email, but contact was a bit difficult. Emails went unanswered for a while, and callbacks took at least a day. The owner seemed a little distracted, though was very friendly. We'd generally recommend the place for a few days, especially for groups of 16 or more, but several things didn't work well for us. Only about half the rooms had keys, which bothered some of our group. The ground-floor beds and mattresses were narrow, and some had a board at the foot, making them awkward for taller men. Some people found their duvets still damp from washing late in the evening, and the sheets were wet too, making the first night difficult. The old rooms are noisy: you can hear every step upstairs and every word downstairs. The listing said there were four toilets and four showers, but two showers are in the same room. We also had sink problems in a few rooms. When water was turned on upstairs, the sinks downstairs made a very loud noise, probably from air in the old pipes, which was disturbing at night. Breakfast was served at the Walcherhof across the street. The older lady there seemed overwhelmed with 16 people, despite the courtyard being set up for many guests, and basic buffet items were often missing. We were all over 26 and polite, but she seemed to treat us like messy teenagers after a few slices of bell pepper slipped off a plate. She also told us to be more careful ordering eggs. We definitely ordered three soft-boiled eggs, but she brought five, and two went uneaten. We didn't feel welcome. In our view, this place suits people with modest expectations who won't be bothered by these issues.
