M1 - Mountain Living

A really nice apartment with great facilities.

A new, comfortable apartment that was clean and quiet.

The apartment was spacious, with large rooms and a long balcony. We liked having a curtain for the sofa bed for extra privacy, and its mattress was pleasantly firm and not sagging. The sofa squeaked a little, but only slightly. There was soap and shampoo in one dispenser in both the bathroom and toilet; we bought more shampoo. We also found one coffee machine tablet, plenty for the dishwasher, a jar, salt, pepper, and several kinds of tea. Self check-in and checkout meant no waiting when we arrived or left. Beforehand, I received all the details, including the code for the box with the entry cards. The apartment was on the first floor, and parking was generally easy, with one assigned space per apartment. Another car blocked us a bit, probably because some apartments had more than one car, so guests could park more carefully. Snow also took up some of the space. The trash bins were right by the building. We were happy with our stay around the end of January and beginning of February. The ski area is just 1 km away, and the bus stop is right outside the apartment.

The apartment itself was spacious and had a sensible layout, a well-equipped kitchen, and an elevator. There was also a small storage room, though it was very cramped and awkward to get a bicycle into. The ground-floor unit had almost no view of the countryside, just a direct view of the barn. There was no air conditioning, and the medium-firm mattress squeaked whenever we moved, so we didn’t sleep well. Our arrival was especially stressful. After a five-hour drive in 30-degree heat with a packed car, our young child, and our dog, we found the apartment hadn’t been cleaned. There was dog hair on the bedsheet, and the bathroom towels were damp and smelled bad. We got an apology and a cleaner was sent, but there was no compensation, and the extra hour of waiting was the last thing we needed. The cowshed across the road brought a lot of flies, which was particularly annoying in summer. We also weren’t given a guest card, which provides discounts on many things in the valley. Communication at the property was inadequate, and we felt there was little effort to make up for the problems or welcome us properly. After such a long trip, we expected a more professional arrival. The experience was disappointing, despite the apartment’s good equipment, and I can’t give it a good rating.
