The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and the hotel has a quaint feel. The balcony views are lovely and quiet. Beds are comfortable, with a large seating area in the rooms, though the pillows are so flat and useless that you should bring your own if you have neck or shoulder issues. The pools are large and warm, and swimsuits are worn there. The saunas and steam rooms are excellent but require nudity. Children under 14 can’t enter the nude areas. The restaurant is okay, but my kids really didn’t like the breakfast choices, which are mostly meat, cheese, bread, and some yogurt. They’d have liked muffins, pancakes, or waffles for a vacation breakfast. You can ask for anything you need, but don’t expect staff to anticipate it. They took away our old towels without leaving new ones, so I had to go downstairs after noticing we had none for the pool. We’d probably stay again for a quiet place to relax after skiing at the nearby Damül ski resort.

The hotel has a lovely location in a quiet valley, but for the prices they charge I think you could find somewhere less grand but much nicer and friendlier in Switzerland. It seems to rely on pleasant, slightly dated facilities, with few or no improvements in comfort. Maybe it mainly suits older guests who don’t care as much about modern amenities. The service felt plainly rude, though my imperfect German may have played a part. Even when staff were polite, requests didn’t seem to get handled, especially on weekends. We’re a family of three, my wife, our three-year-old son, and me. My wife is Austrian, and we live in Zurich. We came to Bregenzerwald with her Austrian relatives using a voucher from an older family member. The location is peaceful. Today our son is with his grandmother while my wife is at the gym with her sisters, so I tried to work on my laptop. There’s a lovely wintergarten near our room in Haus Herbung, with comfy chairs and few people around. It’s separate from the main building and has another Wi-Fi network. The hotel Wi-Fi wasn’t working properly, so I asked at the lobby for the password. They said the network Bad Reuthe_Team was only for employees, which seemed strange since it’s a separate network. I explained the guest Wi-Fi wasn’t working, but the staff insisted it was fine. Even after I showed them a photo of my laptop connected with just one bar, they said it was my device. I offered to come and check it, but they rudely kept insisting it was my fault. I had four devices, a phone, laptop, iPad, and Steam Deck, and none could get a stable connection. Only the laptop could pick up the signal at all; the others couldn’t connect. I gave up and moved to the chaotic main lobby, where the Wi-Fi works, to write this review. My wife also tried to book a treatment, but was told bookings aren’t possible on Saturday or Sunday. We arrived on Saturday, so she had to wait until Monday at 8 AM, even though we leave at 10 AM. She asked for a firmer pillow because the one in our room is too soft, but still hasn’t received one. I think they can charge so much because they’re close to Switzerland and people see the prices as cheap compared with Swiss rates.

The restaurant is nice and spacious, and the hotel is well organized. Set among the Bregenzerwald mountains, it gets little sun in winter. You can easily spend the day indoors with spa treatments, three saunas, two steam baths, and swimming in the indoor or outdoor pool.

The outdoor pool is clean, comfortably warm, and surrounded by nature, with a fantastic view of the Bregenzawald mountains. I came to Bad Reuthe for the first time for a day spa and found it wonderfully calm and relaxing. The spa facilities and indoor and outdoor pools are great. I’ll come back for another relaxing treat 😊

A clean, relaxing place with good food and really nice staff. It’s a healthy place too, with a gym, massages, pool and therapy. I’d recommend it.
