The best part of the stay was the spot: right by the river, with mountains and most of town visible from the shared balcony. Breakfast was simple but had plenty of bread and jams, and the croissant was fabulous. The owner and manager were lovely and checked that we had what we needed. They even suggested places to go when the weather wasn't cooperating. Parking is free and on site, and I liked the self-service honesty bar, where you note what you take and leave payment in a box. The room was a little small, though storage was ample. The pillows were very soft and wouldn't stay fluffed. I didn't ask whether firmer ones were available, so I'm not sure. The duvet was a bit short for me at six feet tall.

We stayed in summer, when the nature around the hotel felt like heaven. The place itself is modern, clean and quiet, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Such a great spot in the middle of beautiful surroundings. I loved it and would strongly recommend visiting.

The staff were awesome, and the rooms comfortable. Its location was great too, only about 30 minutes from Hallstatt. One of the best hotels we've stayed at, maybe the best. We had one of our best trips in Austria and would definitely come back. Cheers!

We made Hotel Kronenhirsch our base for the weekend and loved our stay. The whole place feels brand new and stylish, and the staff were attentive, helpful, and easy to reach with any questions. The breakfast buffet was fresh and healthy, and everything tasted delicious. The bread was still warm when we cut it. I would've liked an alternative to cow's milk, but that's just my preference, and it probably could've been arranged if I'd let the hotel know beforehand. It was also a great starting point for hikes on the Dachstein and visits to nearby towns like Bad Ischl, Bad Goisern and Hallstatt. Thanks for taking such good care of us. We'll be back for sure! @thevoyagette
