We spent 12 days in a holiday apartment here, and I'd recommend it without hesitation. The apartment and Rust's location were perfect, our host was perfect too, and the wine was top-notch.

We heard about this place from a tip by the owner's daughter, who runs a bakery, and decided to give it a try. As someone who's visited Burgenland for years and enjoys Styrian wine taverns, I'm familiar with how they can differ. We ordered a range of things and enjoyed the taste, but the prices were outrageous. The Viennese family with children at the table behind us couldn't believe them either. What disappointed us most was how unfriendly the hosts were. Mr. Weinbauer seemed overwhelmed, as did his wife behind the bar. The pleasant sales area displays plenty of AWC plaques, but a seminar on dealing with guests and customers might be a better long-term investment.

The wine was excellent, but the food wasn't what we're used to at a Styrian wine tavern. For what's on offer, the price is definitely too high.
