Mountainlovers Berghotel Seidlalm

The views were great, but we waited over an hour for food. Service was terrible and left the kids very hungry.

Figo, the hotel manager, refused payment for our coffees when we left and wished us well. He’d welcomed us into the guest breakfast room after I explained that my friend had felt ill and faint while skiing. The external hotel cafe was closed and wouldn’t open for another two hours, and there wasn’t another one nearby. This ski-in, ski-out mountain hotel generally serves food and drinks only to hotel guests, but Figo made an exception and said we could stay as long as we wanted. He spoke perfect English, was kind and professional, and his great sense of humour helped us both feel better. He also gave a coffee to my friend’s partner when he arrived. The other staff we met were just as friendly. It’s a fabulous place on a beautiful mountain in Austria. The room rates are excellent, so we’ll consider staying on our next visit. The staff’s friendliness is second to none.

The warm welcome is what really made the place stand out. After dinner, there are nice corners where you can read or play games, which you can borrow. It’s a lovely spot to get away from daily struggles, enjoy the mountains, and have good food and breakfast. We were hiking from Zell am See to Saalbach and back, and this was one of our stops. I wanted to share my love of the mountains with my sister and dad, and couldn’t have picked a better place. The summer view is breathtaking, and there’s a panorama hike around the corner with awesome views of another mountain range. I can’t wait to see it in winter.

We went in summer, when it wasn’t so busy, and Figo and his staff made us feel right at home. They went above and beyond to make the stay outstanding. The food was perfect and the views matched. I can’t recommend this hotel enough for skiing or biking adventures.
