Pension Lederergütl

The breakfast was okay, but the rest of our stay in room 8 left us very dissatisfied. We were two people and arrived on the evening of 08/03/2026. We were told we’d been upgraded to a better room with a balcony. We didn’t care much about having a balcony, though we took it as a kind gesture. For the price, the room was just okay, and it didn’t look at all like the photos we saw before booking. The toilet smelled so strongly of urine that it felt like a public restroom that hadn’t been cleaned in a month. The smell was disgusting, and we were genuinely worried we might get sick. We bought bleach and cleaned it ourselves. It literally went from beige to white. The bathroom was just as bad, with dampness in several areas and both the sink and shower drain clogged. We’ve attached photos. Even the sheets didn’t seem particularly clean. We’ve traveled to many places and never encountered a toilet like that. A cheap room may come with fewer extras, such as daily cleaning, breakfast or dinner, but that shouldn’t mean poor hygiene or put guests’ health at risk. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Sleeping beside the river in the clean air was magical, and the rooms were clean, with the rubbish taken out every day. The food and service were excellent, and the staff were friendly. It’s a pension, not a hotel, and it was a very good one. Dinner had two courses, soup plus a main meal or dessert, with two meals to choose from. Breakfast was all-you-can-eat. We came back to the Czech Republic smiling after a perfect holiday in Saalbach. I saw the staff handle many situations brilliantly, so I don’t understand why some people leave bad reviews. My only complaint was that communication before arrival was slow, though I had a lot of requests 😊. Once we got there, we realized they do everything themselves and have a lot of work. I wish I’d learned the names of the two boys so I could recommend them by name. Sending them my regards and a big thank you. We’ll definitely come back!

The staff were friendly, and the toilets were clean. It’s a quiet, pleasant place, and the rooms were pretty good for what I paid. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for somewhere to sleep comfortably. Breakfast was included, with cooked eggs, cheese, some fruit, coffee and lots of kinds of juice. The salami was pork only, though, so a few more options for people who don’t eat pork would be nice. Parking felt a bit tight, especially for larger cars. A little vacuuming wouldn’t hurt either: my wife spotted some pet hair on the floor, but we love animals.

My little pup is welcome here, which I love, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. The rooms are on the small side but thoughtfully laid out. Breakfast is a lovely start to the day, and the dinner choices are delicious. I had another fantastic stay at the quaint Lederergütl, which has become a regular stop on my travels.
