Residence Saalbach

Check-in took an hour, and there was nowhere to store bikes, so we had to lock them back onto our cars every day. The balconies sit right over the waste containers, where people throwing away glass bottles can wake you late at night or early in the morning. The apartment for six had around 100 plates but only five glasses. There was no dishwashing liquid or trash bags. The kitchenware was dirty, there was dust everywhere, and the shower had mold. The balcony floor was greasy and burned from a previous BBQ. The spring mattresses left marks on our skin for half a day, and the Wi-Fi was very weak.

The kitchen was poorly stocked. The flat felt old-fashioned and neglected, and the Wi-Fi barely worked. When it did connect, it was painfully slow, like in the 90s.

We had a lovely stay and would definitely book this hotel again. Our apartment was spacious, with enough seating for all six adults, which can be hard to find. The staff were friendly both before and during the visit, and seemed genuinely pleased to welcome tourists. The location worked really well, close to the lifts, restaurants and a mini market. You can ski back to the hotel from one side of the runs. The bread delivery was convenient and reasonably priced, and I'll also look at other options in the Vaya group.

Andrea and the rest of the staff were so caring, and the apartment was warm and comfortable for sleeping. We had a lovely sunrise walk nearby before the ski lift opened. The views from both balconies were panoramic, right by the red ski piste, and afternoon sun made them feel like our own après-ski terrace. The lifts and gondolas were less than five minutes away, handy in this hilly village. There were two supermarkets, a ski shop and a reserved parking space for each large apartment within walking distance. The hotel bread order came from a local germ, and the sweet cheese one and chocolate croissant were especially good 😋 The in-house pizza had lots of choices and was very nice. We also loved the heated ski boots service and the sauna, which could be booked privately per room. Thanks for a wonderful holiday!
