Charming Apartment in Maria Alm With Balcony

A pleasant place to stay near the ski areas. We did have trouble with the remote-controlled heating, though, and were cold 🙈

The view is great, and the accommodation is pleasant. In winter it's a good choice for winter sports fans. The ski area is top-notch, with beautiful Alpine views, and you can get there on the free ski bus. I'd recommend it!

Employees of large retail chains can book these apartments at a discount through their works councils. The manager leaves the key in one of the many boxes by the entrance, marked with the company name and opened with the code you've been sent. Our place was about 60 square meters, with a bedroom, a combined living room and kitchen, bathroom and toilet, entrance hall, storage room, and a very large balcony. It had loungers with cushions, chairs, an ashtray, clothes rack, and lighting. It's right off the main road, with plenty of parking. Bring your own bed linen, sheets, and towels, though there are plenty of blankets and pillows. The bedroom has a double bed with a good mattress. In the living room there's a sofa bed and another single bed. There’s also a large TV with Netflix, a stereo, internet, and a hairdryer. The kitchen is very well equipped: two coffee makers, one pod and one filter, a fridge with a small freezer section, toaster, egg cooker, kettle, and all the usual dishes and utensils, including cutlery, cups, glasses, plates, pots, pans, bowls, spatulas, ladles, chopping boards, and bottle openers. Cleaning things are provided too, such as dish soap, sponges, tea towels, a vacuum, broom, garbage bags, and shoehorn. Even some basics were there, including salt, coffee pods and filter coffee, sugar, flour, and oil. There's soft carpeting throughout, including on the balcony. The furnishings are older and rustic, but fit the area. A small supermarket is nearby. In the next town there are more shops and places to eat, including Hofer, Spar, Billa, McDonald's, a Chinese restaurant, coffee shop, and ice cream parlor. There's plenty to do at the mountain railways and cable cars, as well as the toboggan run, Werfen Ice Cave, Gastein Valley, Salzburg Zoo, Natural History Museum, outdoor pool, and playgrounds.

The owner communicated really well, and there’s parking right below the window. The apartment is nicely equipped, in a lovely spot.
