Aktivhotel Kanisfluh

The seven-course Silvester dinner was brilliant, with good service and nice staff. The play room is especially great for kids, which makes the hotel a good fit for families with children.

It's very clean, but some of the furniture is starting to look a little worn.

If you enjoy being surrounded by nature, the location is great.

The newer sauna area was quiet enough that we sometimes had it to ourselves, and the reception team were warm and helpful. This was our first stay at Hotel Kanisfluh, and we came away very impressed. We booked a comfort double room with half-board, with salad, soup, a main course, and dessert served at the table. We arrived early so we could eat breakfast before skiing. That worked out perfectly, and we could move into our room straight away. Thanks so much, Tabea! 😀 They were also consistently careful about gluten-free food. I have an intolerance, though, and would be cautious for someone with celiac disease since the waiter may not fully understand. One time I was given a regular dessert as gluten-free. It wasn't a major problem for me. The gluten-free breakfast rolls could be better, perhaps with another variety. The food was nicely seasoned and there was plenty of it. Our room was cozy and a good size, though it still had carpet. The bathroom was spacious too, with two sinks. Service in the restaurant was friendly and attentive despite a few language difficulties, which seem understandable in the restaurant business these days. My one criticism is that the owner could come by now and then to check how guests are doing and make his presence felt. We had a lovely, successful holiday and would happily return.
