Hotel Hofmann

The owners, a husband and wife, were both friendly and helpful, and breakfast was generous and great. My room was modern, very clean, and had all the facilities. The hotel is in a quiet suburb, just steps from the bus terminal, so getting into Salzburg is easy. I was there in August, during high season, and found the prices very reasonable. I’d choose it first on another Salzburg trip.

Breakfast had a whole bakery's worth of choices, and the friendly owners were accommodating. We spent one pleasant night at Hotel Hoffman. We’d asked for a first-floor room and they agreed, though getting there meant climbing stairs. The owner offered to carry our bags, but could only do that the next day after breakfast, not when we arrived. Still, it was a nice stay.

I can’t speak to the room or facilities because I cancelled well before my stay. I’d fallen ill and had to postpone the trip, but after the booked date the charge was first blocked and then taken from my account anyway. I believe this was a Booking glitch and their fault. I pushed Booking customer support to sort it out with the property and refund me, but the hotel never tried to contact me or resolve it. So much for customer service. It felt like they just wanted my money. Then Booking rejected the same review when I tried to post it there, saying it didn’t follow their guidelines. I guess the truth hurts. Thanks for nothing, Booking and Hotel Hofmann!
