Numa Salzburg Sonate

The apartment itself was nice when we checked in, and I chose it because of the location. But the online check-in and virtual chat service were the worst part. Since booking, I got more than 20 emails and WhatsApp messages repeating the same information. When I tried calling the 24/7 customer service, nobody answered and the call disconnected automatically. The WhatsApp AI couldn’t answer my questions either. I really don’t recommend this kind of online check-in hotel service.

The building is in a good location, but the company running it was awful and can’t be trusted. This is an unmanned “hotel,” which sounds good in theory, but when the lock broke, I was stuck inside for an hour and nearly missed my flight. The supposedly 24/7 customer service didn’t respond on WhatsApp, which relies on a bot, for over an hour. Also, if you’re in apartment 301, be ready for the cleaner to ENTER YOUR APARTMENT to get their equipment. That means no privacy, and they can see you in the kitchen or bathroom through a mirror. A very weird setup. I’d spend my money elsewhere, or your experience of this beautiful city could be ruined.

We stayed at Ruma Sonate Apartment from 27-3 Jan 25. It was roomy, clean, comfortable and cozy, with a kitchenette, washer and all the essentials. The main attractions are just a stone's throw away. We had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.

The decor is beautiful, the location is hard to beat, and check-in was easy. But we barely slept during our three days there. The flat got up to 30 degrees inside, with no AC, and my 8-month-old struggled with the heat and kept waking from naps. The big curtains didn't help, and opening the windows meant dealing with a busy street, ambulances, honking and speeding cars day and night. There's also a kebab place downstairs open until 5am. People were loud all night, especially on weekends, and the smell was too much. We ended up walking around all day and evening because being outside in 30-degree weather felt better than staying in the flat. I'm an opera singer and had a festival concert, and I thought NUMA would be somewhere I could rest. Instead, we're leaving exhausted. Unless they add AC and change the windows, we won't come back.
