A cozy spot with really friendly staff.

The cleaning team were a bright spot: really kind, respectful, and efficient. The low price was appealing too, and it’s handy to have a bus stop nearby and ski resorts close by. I’m a sensitive person, so take that into account, but I think it’s useful to mention what we experienced. The person who seemed to be the owner often came across as displeased with guests. Her gestures and audible reactions didn’t feel welcoming, and we felt that way from the start. We were given stale bread while other tables had fresh bread, and she sharply reprimanded our son, which we didn’t think was appropriate. Families with small children might want to consider that, especially since the website describes the hotel as family-friendly. Breakfast was very basic and exactly the same for all eight days. The hallways had an unpleasant sweetish smell that we thought might be due to poor ventilation. It seemed to linger in the old continuous carpet through the rooms, corridors, and stairwells. The bedding also made a distinct plasticky noise whenever we moved, which disrupted our sleep and could be upsetting for sensitive people. We thought about moving to another hotel, but couldn’t because it was New Year’s. These are subjective impressions, but they affected our stay quite a bit. Sometimes what looks cheap ends up costing more in the long run.

After skiing, the hotel sauna is a must, with its Finnish sauna, herbal sauna, and steam room. The ski bus stop is only a minute away on foot, and the owners let skiers store their skis and boots for free in the center of St. Anton. Fantastic!

The spa area has several saunas and is lovely. Breakfast is hearty and just the thing before heading out to ski. The bus stop is a minute’s walk away, and since it’s the first stop, you’re sure to get a seat. I’d happily come back.
