Haus Bischof

Our week in January 2025 was a big disappointment. We were seven people, though we had booked for eight because one person got sick just before the trip. Since only one apartment in Haus Bischoff was still available when we booked, we had another apartment in the house next door as well. The landlord wouldn’t let everyone gather in Bischoff’s larger living room for meals, saying only the people staying in that apartment could enter. That rule wasn’t listed in the additional terms, but it was strictly enforced and made it much harder to enjoy time together. The place is also inconveniently located, far from everything, with lots of walking up and down steep paths. The kitchen fuse kept tripping, and nothing was done about it, so we had to cook by candlelight with the lights off. Later, the landlord accused us of damaging a candle holder, which wasn’t true, and charged us a hefty fee. A discount for the faulty electrical system and unreasonable visitor restrictions would have made more sense. We weren’t messy, loud, or disruptive, and our group averaged around 50 years old, so we weren’t reckless partygoers. The landlord was unpleasant, charging high prices while making unreasonable demands. If you can’t treat guests properly, you shouldn’t rent accommodations. My advice is to stay elsewhere.
