Hotel Himmlhof felt like one of the best ski hotels we’ve ever stayed in. We’ve visited many wonderful resorts internationally, and this place is right up there. Its quiet street is just behind the main pedestrian area of Dorfstraße, and it’s about a five-minute walk to the main lift, the Galzigbahn. The hotel has no restaurant, and although we’ve often chosen half-board stays before, we preferred having the flexibility to eat out. The hotel’s restaurant recommendations were excellent and helped us enjoy a range of local options. The Penz family, Margherita, Sebastian and Chris, were outstanding hosts. Their warmth, care and attention to detail made every part of our stay feel special. The hotel has the charm of a traditional Tyrolean chalet, reimagined with a contemporary, elegant feel. The furniture, colours and textures are beautifully chosen, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Our room was stylish, comfortable and beautifully presented, in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Breakfast each morning was amazing, with a generous, high-quality selection, and we loved coming back for the afternoon post-ski snack. After a day on the slopes, we also enjoyed unwinding in the spa, with its small pool, two saunas, steam room, ice bath and relaxation beds. Compared with other places we’ve stayed, it offers very good value for the experience. We can’t recommend Hotel Himmlhof highly enough to anyone visiting St Anton. It was a wonderful stay, and we’d return without hesitation.

Such a joy to be recognized when we return after staying more than once. The staff are some of the kindest people you’ll meet. This is a wonderful ski chalet, with cozy rooms, a relaxing pool and sauna area, and delightful breakfast and tea. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

The indoor pool, saunas, steam room and cold plunge made the spa a highlight for us, and we loved the breakfast buffet too. Hotel Himmlhof is close to both the pedestrian zone and the ski slopes. It feels like home as soon as you walk in, thanks to the family-run atmosphere and personable service. The rooms are luxurious and the amenities impeccable. We loved every moment there. If you’re traveling to St. Anton, you should definitely consider Hotel Himmlhof.

The spa has two saunas, a steam room, a pool and an ice bath, so there’s plenty to enjoy. The staff were amazing, always friendly and welcoming, and made the place feel like a family business where you become part of the family. They know your name, take care of every need and even book cabs for you.

This was our fourth visit in five seasons, and probably our best yet. The Penz family and their team keep up the highest standards while making the place feel wonderfully homely. We love the cozy but spacious rooms, plentiful breakfasts, afternoon teas, evening cocktails, and the spa and pool for recovering after skiing. We’ll be back again soon!
