Our room was clean, though a little worn and nothing special. The hotel has a small sauna for up to 4 people, and the ski bus stops right beside it 🎿. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty, if a bit limited, but there was just enough to fill up for skiing if you ate everything 😄.

The location worked well for skiing: it's about half a mile from the lift, and being a little above the town center means fewer crowds. The hotel stores skis at Jennwein by the lift, so you don't have to carry them back, and there's a separate room for drying boots. Breakfast was very good, and the room was a decent size for one or two people with comfortable beds. Ski resort prices are inflated, I know, but I'm not sure if I had the cheapest room and it barely felt like a 3-star place. I was most disappointed by the checkout conversation with Philip. I'd lost my Epic Pass on the last morning and couldn't ski the whole day, so I asked if I could get another day added. I understand if the answer had to be no because of the cost, but the tone felt cold, as if asking was foolish, and he mentioned it would be another 78 Euros. Whatever he intended, I would have appreciated a kind explanation that it was a fixed cost. Instead, he more or less tossed my final invoice down. That left a sour taste and is why I'm giving three stars instead of four. There were other issues too. The walls are thin, and I could hear people walking around upstairs. On arrival the room had a strange unwashed smell, the shower was tiny and its temperature kept changing, and the lighting was poor enough that it felt like a basement room. Service was mostly fine, and the front desk woman was pleasant for the most part. But housekeeping came in to change towels and clean the bathroom even after I said they didn't need to, while I was still in the room. Maybe Austrians expect more directness, but in most places you shouldn't have to ask them to come back another time. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect more kindness from a hotel that takes pride in its service. I don't want to hear that Europeans are direct and Americans are too sensitive. Sometimes you can tell you haven't been treated decently, even if it's hard to explain. I hope Philip and the staff reflect on it, because otherwise I'd think twice about coming back.

The #2 bus stops right outside Hotel Rosa Canina, and the ride to town and the ski lifts is under 10 minutes. Our group was also really impressed by the hospitality. It's a family run hotel, and Phillip, Sandra and Peter clearly care about making guests' stays enjoyable. After a long day skiing, it was great to return to a clean, spacious, updated room. They cleaned daily. The sauna is available from 4-7pm, and there's a meal upstairs on the 1st floor. With the Covid restrictions at the time, guests had to be back in their rooms or leave the dining area by 10pm, but the staff made sure we had what we needed beforehand. Breakfast ran from 7:30-10am, and chef Peter's eggs were the best we'd ever had. Sandra deserves a special thanks for her kindness and energy, and Phillip was the best host I've had in a hotel. I came to St Anton with friends and can't recommend this place enough for friends, families, or couples. I can't wait to return and enjoy St Anton in non Covid times. Thanks again for such a great stay!

Hamish was a legend at the bar, serving drinks each night. The whole staff made us feel comfortable and went above and beyond. Our room was outstanding, and every breakfast and dinner was delicious. One of the best hospitality experiences I've had. We'll be back next year.

David was charming, skilled, and professional, and the service was easily the best I've ever had anywhere. I'd come back for that alone, even if all I got was toast! Rosa, he's world class and a real credit to the venue. The food was fresh, tasty, and served in good portions, and the location was incredible and easy to reach. Best experience I've had in more years than I can remember.
