Schindler Hotel

The summer setup outside is lovely: a cozy atmosphere, with the river flowing nearby. I’ve eaten at the restaurant in both summer and winter, and both visits were top notch. The traditional Austrian dishes are great, and so are the cocktails and wine list. Book ahead in winter if you’re planning to go while in St. Anton.

It felt like a five-star evening, even though it’s rated 3*. The food and wine were delicious, and the service was amazing. Worth every penny.

The rooms are roomy, and ours had an extra sofa and a balcony looking out over town. Waking up to that mountain view was lovely. The staff were all so friendly, and the dinner restaurant was fantastic, especially the schnitzel, the best I’ve ever had. Breakfast was really yummy too, with a good spread, eggs made how you like them, coffee and more. It’s a cute, quaint Austrian hotel, close to the restaurants and bars in St. Anton and just steps from the Galzigban gondola. Their “simple and excellent” slogan fits. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed for a week of snowboarding. The rooms are very big, though I expected tea making facilities as standard and there weren’t any. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and breakfast is freshly prepared each day in a continental style. We ate in the restaurant once and had an amazing meal. The waiter took time to explain the choices and make sure we enjoyed the evening. The location is fantastic, just a two-minute walk from St Anton’s main gondola. A good base for a skiing trip.
