The greeting, rooms and location were fantastic during our long weekend, but we came away with mixed feelings. Breakfast and the Wienerschnitzel were great, while some fresh produce, like the salad, didn’t seem fresh. The strawberry-rhubarb Strudel was awful, microwaved until it was soggy with its own steam, and the strawberries served with it were moldy. We told the server, but he didn’t seem to care about the food or our feedback. We had a different server the next day, and the experience felt completely different. You might have a pleasant stay if you’re lucky, but the kitchen and staff need proper training.

The dessert and decaf coffee were just right after a long week in the mountains. We had a great dinner here, with tasty alpine dishes like kaas spätzle, schnitzel and cordon bleu, plus a big wine list with plenty of good local options. Service was quick and fun, and the staff could speak a bit of every language.

I really enjoyed the dinner buffet and the view from the balcony in the morning. The hotel has around 200 years of history, and while the decor feels old-fashioned, it’s cozy and comfortable. The ski lift is only about 800 meters away, or one bus stop.

The reception staff were so helpful. I only speak English, and the young woman checking us in spoke English too, which put me at ease and meant my bilingual German and English speaking friend didn’t have to translate. The rooms were cleaned every day, and I loved the moose theme. There’s also a sitting room downstairs with some interesting history about Austria’s past. As a history buff, I found it fascinating. Austria is such a beautiful country!!! 🦌👌
