The booking experience was such a letdown. We were excited about the house and its surroundings, but found that prices varied by more than 50% depending on the booking site. Once we found a reasonable one, we saw that babies and toddlers were charged the same as adults. We thought it had to be a website error, but the agency confirmed it, and we ended up paying a cancellation fee even though the booking was six months ahead. It's a shame, because we'd really been looking forward to the place.

The price for what you get feels just right, and arranging things with the host was easy. The house is spacious, very clean, and comes with good equipment. It's in a great spot, with the elevator within walking distance. Some of the furnishings are practical but not especially attractive, though the house still has plenty of potential. We'll come back.

The alternative offered after our booking fell through wasn't comparable. We had reserved the house in February for five days in September for seven people, and paid a deposit. A week before the trip, we emailed to confirm arrival and departure details; everything was friendly and straightforward, and we were looking forward to it. Then, just two days before arriving, we were told a double booking meant we couldn't stay there. Since the trip was cancelled, I can't speak to the house itself. In an age of digital booking systems, this shouldn't happen. The way they communicated and dealt with their mistake felt unprofessional and was, literally, disappointing.
