Revier Mountain Lodge Montafon

The ski room is great, and being right by the lift is probably the facility's main advantage. The hotel feels like a Moxy combined with a self-storage facility: very utilitarian, with very basic rooms. That's as advertised, but at over €250 a night the price doesn't feel in line with what you get. I guess the location explains it. The pillows and blanket weren't great and seemed very cheap, which other people have also mentioned. The bathroom was fine apart from the motion-sensor light switching off every two minutes while I was in the shower. Check-in is automated, and when an issue came up there was nobody at the desk, as far as I could tell. Breakfast starts relatively late and is very basic, not worth €32.

It's cool and trendy, but the hostesses we had seemed irritated by our large group rather than welcoming. The music was crazy loud even when nobody was there, and they couldn't sort it out despite us asking several times.

Great location right by the ski lift, but the hotel's own booking page didn't have the best price. Other providers were significantly cheaper.

I feel bad giving this place two stars because the staff are so friendly and helpful. But the basic rooms really are basic, and while they're advertised that way, calling the cheap setup 'modern' or 'sheik' doesn't make it feel any less cheap. I needed to change something at check-in and there was nobody at the desk at all. The restaurant kitchen closes at 9, and there's no breakfast or coffee until 7:30 am. Those cost-cutting choices aren't reflected in the rate, which is as high as, or higher than, a traditional hotel. The coffee is terrible. After paying 18EUR for breakfast, you still have to pay extra for an espresso drink. Cleaning, towels, and pretty much anything else also cost extra. Even with the great staff, I'd rather drive farther than stay here again.
